JROTC

Wednesday Oct. 15th two teams from Greenbrier West High School participated in Gaines Games at the Gaines Estate in Fayetteville. The attending schools were Pikeview, Webster, Nicholas, Princeton, Greenbrier East, and Capital. Each of the schools had two teams competing. The event consisted of a 1.5 mile course and four stations. Station 1 was the push up station where each cadet performed as many pushups as possible in one minute. Station 2 was the sit-up station where each cadet performed as many sit-ups as possible in one minute. Station 3 was archery where each cadet fired 5 arrows to achieve the highest score possible. At the Archery station our cadet Zach Jenkins had the highest score of all the competing cadets from all schools. Station 4 was air rifle. Each cadet shot 10 rounds to achieve the highest scores possible. At the finish their time and the scores of each station were compiled to determine the winner. Not only did Greenbrier West win overall, but Jenkins also had the highest archery score.
